Russia and China: Remembering the Past, Building the Future
A Russian delegation, together with KRIF partners, took part in a meeting of the Communist Party of China in Dalian.
From August 18 to 25, 2019, a Russian delegation of officials, businessmen, and public figures made another visit to the People's Republic of China, to the city of Dalian. Among the delegates were KRIF partners Alexey Gorodishenin and Mikhail Derevyanko, who took part in a meeting of the local Communist Party of China on August 19.
After meeting with representatives of the authorities of Liaoning Province, members of the Russian delegation discussed the specifics of economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. The working meeting concluded with a patriotic event at the Memorial dedicated to the memory of Soviet soldiers who fell in the battles of the Second World War.
KRIF's team intends to continue actively building ties with Chinese officials and investors in order to implement various projects in the regions of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.
*Note: Dalian is home to the largest Russian cemetery in China. Buried here are Russian soldiers who died defending the Chinese Eastern Railway (1899–1901) and Port Arthur (1904–1905), during the liberation of Northeast China in World War II (1945), and in air combat during the "Korean War" (1950–1953). Around 20,000 of our compatriots found their final resting place in Dalian.*
