On October 11, a strategic session on national projects was held with the participation of representatives of government and business. The discussion took the form of a strategic session at the Omsk Regional Information Technology Park.

Participants included representatives of the region's government authorities, business support infrastructure organizations, and entrepreneurs. The strategic session was one of the events in an educational program of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration on a systemic approach to regional governance, in which representatives of regional and municipal government authorities took part.

The meeting was attended by Oksana Fadina, Mayor of Omsk; Denis Kushner, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Omsk Region; Elena Rusinova, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Omsk Region; as well as representatives of the business community.

Mikhail Derevyanko, a partner of KRIF, presented a project to build 100 electric vehicle charging stations in the city and to bring an electric vehicle dealer into the region. Mikhail Yuryevich plans to build a network of charging stations and is currently negotiating with Chinese automakers specializing in electric vehicles regarding sales of their cars in the Omsk market.

One charging station costs around one million rubles. Thus, according to preliminary estimates, the project is valued at approximately 400 million rubles.

*Note:*

In 2018, the United States had approximately 50,000 electric vehicle charging stations, while China had approximately 160,000.

The United Kingdom had 135,000 electric vehicles in 2018.

In China, one in every five cars is an electric vehicle.

In Europe, legislation is planned to ban the use of diesel and gasoline engines that do not meet environmental standards. Environmental zones are being created that will prohibit entry, starting in 2020, to vehicles below the Euro 5 standard, and from 2022, below the Euro 6 standard.

Starting in 2040, the United Kingdom plans to introduce a complete ban on sales of vehicles with internal combustion engines.

According to forecasts by major consulting firms, approximately 40 million electric charging stations will be installed worldwide by 2030.
