St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019
Alexey Gorodishenin spoke at SPIEF 2019 in the session “Digitalization of Eurasia: A Look into the Future.”
The Economic Forum, held with the participation of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, took place in St. Petersburg from June 6 to 8.
As part of the session “Digitalization of Eurasia: A Look into the Future,” Alexey Gorodishenin, partner of KRIF, spoke as one of the panelists. In his remarks, Alexey Vladimirovich described his experience working with the People's Republic of China and discussed the robotization of industry.
“Over the next 11 years, 1 billion people will lose their jobs. These will be blue-collar occupations such as miners, drivers, loaders, and others. It should be noted, however, that these changes are capable of opening up truly extraordinary opportunities that will come with the transformation of the economy. This will allow people to work less, engage in less routine processes, and free themselves from the need to work in hazardous industries.”
Alexey Vladimirovich described how, several years earlier, his team became involved in the work of a business incubator in China organized by the Russian Union of Youth and the All-China Youth Federation. Russia and China are linked by a historical friendship, and the leaders of the two countries meet regularly, opening up new economic opportunities. At first, Alexey Vladimirovich's team simply took part in business exchanges between Russia and China, and later went on to become experts and leaders in the field. Every trip proved valuable, offering a chance to learn about China, its culture, and its enormous economic potential. Alexey Vladimirovich's team saw extraordinary opportunities in the way technology companies are valued today in Russia and in China. The difference is colossal, driven by market size and the volume of demand. This gave Alexey Vladimirovich the starting point for founding KRIF.
