SCO Youth Camp in Qingdao
More than 200 young people from 14 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member countries gathered at the SCO Youth Camp
Mikhail Derevyanko, a partner of KRIF, took part in an international event held in the city of Qingdao. The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Youth Camp brings together youth movements ranging from India and Pakistan to China, Russia, and Belarus. The Youth Camp was established on the initiative of President Xi Jinping in June 2015 to strengthen youth engagement. From April 25 to May 2, 2019, the event took place in Qingdao, the city that had hosted the meeting of SCO heads of state a year earlier. The Youth Camp brought together the heads and representatives of the national chapters of the SCO Youth Council and other youth organizations across the SCO space. The organizers prepared an eventful program that provided an opportunity to become acquainted with innovative and cultural projects, and the delegations visited various industrial parks. Time was also set aside for training seminars, thematic forums, and networking on topics of youth entrepreneurship.
